Terms & Conditions

RELEASE, WAIVER, AND PARTICIPANT AGREEMENT

I, the PARTICIPANT, or the PARENT/LEGAL GUARDIAN of a PARTICIPANT under the age of 18 (collectively referred to as the "Participant"), hereby acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agree to comply with all rules, regulations, policies, and procedures set forth by the Atlanta Piano Competition (the "Competition"), an initiative of the Atlanta Center for Young Musicians ("ACYM"), a Georgia nonprofit organization.

The Participant agrees to conduct themselves in a respectful and professional manner throughout all phases of the Competition. The Participant shall treat competition staff, volunteers, adjudicators, sponsors, venue personnel, and fellow participants with courtesy and respect and shall refrain from any conduct that is disruptive, abusive, defamatory, harassing, or otherwise detrimental to the Competition.

The Participant further certifies that all information submitted in connection with the Competition application is complete, accurate, and truthful. ACYM reserves the right to disqualify any participant whose application contains false, misleading, or incomplete information or who fails to comply with Competition rules and policies.

Media Release

The Participant hereby grants ACYM, the Atlanta Piano Competition, and their authorized representatives the irrevocable right and permission to photograph, record, livestream, videotape, and otherwise capture the Participant's performances, interviews, rehearsals, and participation in Competition-related activities.

The Participant grants ACYM the unrestricted right to use, reproduce, publish, distribute, display, broadcast, and promote such recordings, photographs, and materials in any media now known or later developed, including but not limited to websites, social media platforms, promotional materials, educational programs, fundraising campaigns, press releases, and archival purposes, without compensation or further approval.

The Participant understands that all recordings and media produced by or for ACYM shall remain the property of ACYM.

Liability Waiver and Release

The Participant acknowledges that participation in the Competition and related events is voluntary.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Participant releases and holds harmless ACYM, the Atlanta Piano Competition, its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, adjudicators, sponsors, venue partners, and representatives from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses arising out of or related to participation in the Competition, except where caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct.

The Participant understands and agrees that:

• All adjudication decisions are final and not subject to appeal;

• Competition rules, schedules, categories, venues, and awards may be modified if necessary;

• ACYM reserves the right to cancel, postpone, reschedule, or alter Competition activities due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control;

• Participation in the Competition does not guarantee advancement, awards, prizes, scholarships, or performance opportunities.

Participant Agreement

The Participant certifies that all information submitted in connection with the Competition application is true, accurate, and complete.

The Participant further acknowledges and agrees that:

• All performances presented during the Competition shall be performed by the Participant and shall comply with all Competition rules and repertoire requirements;

• The Participant has prepared the repertoire independently and in accordance with the published Competition guidelines;

• The Participant will perform all required repertoire from memory unless otherwise permitted by the Competition Rules;

• Any awards, honors, photographs, recordings, or results related to the Competition may be publicly announced and used by the Atlanta Center for Young Musicians ("ACYM") for promotional, educational, and archival purposes;

• The Participant agrees to abide by all published Competition Rules and accepts the decisions of the adjudicators and Competition officials as final.

• The Participant further agrees that:

  1. This Agreement, together with the official Competition Rules, constitutes the entire agreement between the Participant and ACYM regarding participation in the Competition.

  2. ACYM reserves the right to revise Competition rules, policies, schedules, procedures, and requirements as necessary.

  3. If any provision of this Agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

  4. Failure by ACYM to enforce any provision of this Agreement shall not constitute a waiver of its right to enforce that provision in the future.

  5. This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Georgia.

  6. Any dispute arising from participation in the Competition shall be resolved in the courts of Gwinnett County, Georgia.

  7. Electronic acceptance of this Agreement shall have the same force and effect as an original handwritten signature.
