Terms &Policies

General Regulations

By submitting an application to the Atlanta Piano Competition, participants and their parents/guardians acknowledge and agree to abide by all competition rules, policies, and decisions of the organizers. The Atlanta Piano Competition reserves the right to make adjustments to scheduling, jury panels, venue arrangements, or other competition procedures when necessary.

Eligibility

The competition is open to pre-college pianists residing in the United States. Applicants must be pre-college students 18 years of age or younger. Participants of all nationalities are welcome to apply. First Prize winners are not eligible to compete in the same division in the following year.

Participants are responsible for their own travel, accommodation, and visa arrangements, if applicable. The competition does not provide visa sponsorship and is not responsible for travel or immigration-related matters that may affect participation.

Application Materials

Contestants must submit all required materials by the published application deadline. The Organizer reserves the right to reject incomplete or late applications.

Participants who are selected for the Final Round of the competition may be required to provide additional documentation, including proof of age and identification documents. Failure to provide requested materials may result in disqualification. All application fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Competition Procedures

Participants are expected to appear at their assigned performance time and remain available for all required competition activities. Failure to appear at the scheduled time may result in disqualification.

The decision of the jury is final. No appeals, discussions, or correspondence regarding competition results will be entertained. The Organizer reserves the right to withhold prizes or awards if, in the opinion of the jury, the required artistic standard has not been met.

Conduct & Professional Ethics

Any attempt to communicate with, influence, or interfere with members of the jury regarding competition results may result in the participant’s disqualification. Any participant found to have submitted false, misleading, or plagiarized information may be disqualified.

Photography, Recording & Media Release

The Atlanta Piano Competition reserves the right to photograph, audio record, video record, livestream, broadcast, reproduce, and distribute performances and competition-related activities for archival, educational, promotional, and publicity purposes without additional compensation to participants.

By participating in the competition, contestants and their parents/guardians grant the Organizer permission to use photographs, video recordings, audio recordings, names, likenesses, and biographical information in connection with the promotion of the competition.

Audience photography, audio recording, and video recording during performances may be restricted or prohibited unless explicitly authorized by the Organizer.

Copyright

Participants are responsible for ensuring that all submitted scores and performance materials comply with the copyright laws. All contestants must possess and bring at least one original, legally obtained score for each work performed in both the Preliminary and Final Rounds. Photocopies of copyrighted music are not permitted for this competition.Digitally purchased sheet music is permitted provided that the music was legally obtained.

Liability & Insurance

The Atlanta Piano Competition, its organizers, staff, volunteers, sponsors, venues, and affiliated organizations shall not be held responsible for personal injury, illness, loss, theft, damage to property, travel delays, or unforeseen circumstances occurring in connection with the competition.

Participants and their families are responsible for obtaining any necessary medical, travel, or personal insurance coverage.

Acceptance of Rules

Submission of an application constitutes full acceptance of all competition rules, policies, and decisions of the Atlanta Piano Competition.
