Yingshang Yisa Lyu

A devoted interpreter of the music of Chopin, Mozart, and Bach, pianist Yingshang Yisa Lyu is recognized for her artistry, professionalism, and exceptionally beautiful tone. She has earned numerous awards in international piano competitions, including First Prize at the China Star Torch Piano Competition, First Prize at the Città di Barletta Young Musician International Competition in Italy, and finalist honors at the Agustín Aponte International Music Competition in Tenerife, Spain. She was also a prizewinner in the South Carolina State Division of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Competition.
Yisa collaborated with renowned pianist Dr. Diane Earle in the production 88 Keys of Piano for Kentucky Educational Television (KET). Dr. Earle praised her artistry, stating, “She is the most talented young pianist that I have ever seen.”
During her undergraduate studies, Yisa received the Outstanding Music Student Award for excellence in piano performance. She earned her Master of Music degree in Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy from the University of Louisville School of Music and completed her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance at the University of South Carolina School of Music.
In addition to her performing career, Yisa is a founding member and artist of the Liandu Music Festival in Southern China. She has been invited to perform in prestigious venues throughout China, including Hangzhou Music Theater, Jiaxing Concert Hall, Chengdu City Music Hall, Xuzhou Concert Hall, Jiangxi Art Music Hall, and Qinghai Music Theater. She also serves as an artist for the Zhejiang Partner Assistance Program with Jiuzhaigou City.
Committed to music education and community engagement, Yisa actively participates in public-service initiatives that bring music to young students and has been invited to serve as an adjudicator for numerous piano competitions.
In 2025, she founded the Cantando International Music Festival in Europe, where she currently serves as Artistic Director, fostering artistic exchange and educational opportunities for young musicians from around the world.
